UNILAG students hail court decision on name change

Students of the University of Lagos have expressed excitement over the interlocutory injunction restraining the Federal Government and the National Assembly from renaming their institution to Moshood Abiola University of Lagos.

In a statement, the President of UNILAG Press Club, Tosin Adesile, said that the students were  satisfied with the court ruling that directed that the name of UNILAG should be retained pending the determination of the suit filed by the past students of the institution.

NUC suspends part-time programmes in universities

The National Universities Commission on Monday 25th June 2012, announced the suspension of all Part-Time Programmes run by universities in the country.

The Executive Secretary of the commission, Prof. Julius Okojie, said the suspension of the part- time programmes was to enable the regulatory body “streamline’’ them.

EBSU post utme examination dates

The EBSU post utme is scheduled to hold as follows:

DAY 1 29th June 2012: (Art Option)
Venue: To be held @the various halls indicated on the Post UTME Acknowledgement slip

DAY 2 30th June 2012: (Science Option)
Venue: To be held @the various halls indicated on the Post UTME Acknowledgement slip

Note: Those that have ALTERNATIVE hall as their venue should visit the school on 28th or re-check their status via the application portal.

JAMB to commence electronic testing (E-Testing) in 2013 UTME

Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), says candidates are to answer questions by e-testing in the 2013 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Fire in Student Affairs office.

PRESCO: A sudden fire caused by an electrical malfunction in the student affairs office presco campus of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki on Monday morning caused tension and panic in the university premises.

The incident occurred at around 11.30 am. Sources said that the office personnel with the aid of security officers used fire extinguishers to douse the fire.
